The 17 best coffee roasters in Dayton (2024)

Pettibone Coffee is a well-renowned coffee shop in Toronto that offers a variety of coffee, tea, and baked goods. The staff are friendly and easy going, and the space is spacious with natural light and outlets. The food is also delicious - especially their hot honey grilled cheese!

My first experience with latte art! I appreciate this spot. It’s certainly a go-to for any coffee or tea lover. They have wonderful food! The hot honey grilled cheese was GREAT! A plentiful selection of gluten free items as well. Definitely will be back.

We were looking for coffee places near Dayton & settled on Pettibone Coffee because of its greet reviews, neat name, and interesting coffees to choose from. We were not disappointed! Pettibone Coffee has a lovely ambience & we highly recommend the whiskey caramel latte. I want to come back soon and try the new seasonal autumn drink. The scones were delicious as well.

We were out on a cold and rainy day and really needed a warm drink and snack to enjoy on the ride home from doing some shopping. Upon entering, it was evident that the store is set up to sit with friends or family and have a snack and a coffee. The people are very friendly and helpful and the store is warm and clean. There is plenty of room to move around. The seats are comfortable. My mocha latte had a fair amount of chocolate and coffee mix. I wax more than pleased. My wife's latte was correct and also delicious. She was kind of disappointed in the car on the way home that she only ordered a small. I got the medium, and it was a pretty good size. We got two muffins with blue berries. The muffins were good. I could have used a few more berries in mine, but that is kinda my thing about berries. Overall, we had a very good visit. I will be back.

Pettibone is the quintessential coffee shop. And Dayton - specifically Riverside - needed this fine establishment. The owner is a jewel of a person, as is the interior. And what a wonderful, warm, yet modern interior space it is.She nailed (corrected) the main downfall of other coffee shops, and that's the space quotient. Ghostlight wishes it brought to the barrista table what Pettibone delivers; and that's plenty of space. My mocha over ice was fantastic. Yes, do I wish it wasn't quite $5.50 for 16oz... of course. But, this is the coffee culture we live in. Nowhere is it any better. The flavor was on point though, and I could tell the base coffee was excellently roasted and prepared.I could wax poetic all day, but at the end of that day, the fact still remains. A well earned 5 stars for a business that deserves to be here, and is just downright good for Dayton. And for goodness sake... at least it's not another bank, oil change garage, Spectrum store, or Kettering Health center. It's small business commerce; again, what Dayton needs more of.I say bravo and well done 👏 👏 👏

Coffee shops are kinda my thing, and this one is pretty close to perfection. The space is light, airy, and beautiful, but still homey. Coffee is without fault—flawless milk texture, tasty espresso, unique and delicious flavors. I had the croissant sandwich and it hit the spot with a truly toasty and fabulously flaky croissant, all the breakfast sandwich standards elevated with arugula and pickled onions. This is truly the type of coffee shop I could visit every day. Cannot recommend highly enough.

An excellent local coffee shop that quite surprised me! Giving strong portland vibes, it is spacious and inviting inside. Although a touch out of the way, it is well worth the trip! I got an Honduras pour over coffee and my fiancée got an iced mocha latte and we were very impressed with both! She specifically won't stop talking about going back, would highly recommend!

The food is amazing and fresh! And this may very well be the best caramel latte I've ever had, and the strawberry rhubarb muffin is also delicious! New favorite coffee shop in Dayton!

Loved the vibe, definitely gave coffee shop feels. The quiet murmurs, the coffee brewing, glasses clinking all the sounds you'd expect from a coffee shop. The building was quite spacey and definitely could hold large groups of people. The coffee was delicious, and the menu was simple. I got an iced mocha latte and my boyfriend got the spiced orange mocha iced latte.

There's coffee shops, then there's Pettibone. Great staff, very friendly, helpful and easy going. Great products from the coffee, tea to the baked goods. Ample space to sit. Plenty of natural light, and outlets.

A good friend recommended Pettibone years ago, but it is located outside of where I usually hang out or buy coffee. Another friend wanted to get coffee and they live near this part of Dayton, so I suggested Pettibone.Quite honestly, I love the space that it is in. You can tell it used to be a garage (if I remember correctly, it was a car shop when we first moved to Dayton). It is spacious and open. I like that. It is not cluttered and there is plenty of room to sit anywhere. They even have tables outside. If you are writer or an artist, they have plenty to inspire you. They have plenty of art from local artists that will blow your mind. Yes, I am going back to purchase one or two.My friend was in love. And she definitely wants to go back.My only issue was the price of coffee. Don't get me wrong, their coffee was amazing. They did pour overs and you know how much I love pour overs but it is literally the most expensive coffee I ever purchased in my life (I drink coffee not that stuff everyone else sells btw). Outside of that it was a dope experience and I shall return.

A wonderful coffee shop that is a must stop when in the area or just passing by on the bike trail. I have endnotes every single visit and only find more drinks and food that I enjoy . I highly recommend the whiskey Caramel Latte and a Simple Sammy

This a really good coffee shop! I wouldn’t have guessed given by the location that I would find such a good place. The coffee is superb, we had a Costa Rica pour over and a purple lavender iced coffee that were both amazing. The atmosphere is hipster with lots of room and nice decor.

I’ve traveled to 39 states and have stopped at a coffee shop in every single one; sometimes many. I can honestly say that objectively this is my favorite. It’s clear from the moment you walk in and notice the laboratory level equipment and methodical operation behind the counter the significant dedication that goes in to producing magnificent artisan coffee. Beautiful roasts from fruity and floral to rich and bold offer something for any true coffee appreciator. But besides the coffee, Pettibone truly embraces the idea of a coffee shop taking you out of reality and into an experience. Set inside a reclaimed mechanic garage, I feel like I’ve walked out of suburban Ohio and into Brooklyn. If you’re staying a while, the pour over is the best way to experience what Pettibone has to offer along with surprisingly great handcrafted pastries. On the run? The outstanding barista team has no shortage of creative and classical espresso that will either sweeten or spice your day depending on your mood. My friend Joel and I discovered this place about 3 years ago while traveling for work and have made it a point to come visit every time we’re in Dayton. Thanks for being open; I’ll always support your business.

If you want coffee house vibes, this is definitely a great spot. It tends to be crowded, but worth the wait. I’ve not had one bad experience here. The food is also as good as the coffee, and service is always friendly and top notch. Have there been times my order hasn’t come out right away? Sure. But nothing that doesn’t ever get resolved, and usually someone checks if I’ve gotten everything. Please support this amazing business, a true gem.

Little strong but good Latte, served in ceramic cup. Good place and vibe to relax, with or without any company. Lot of sitting arrangements in group or solo. Worth checking out.

Our most favorite place to go for coffee! Our favorite is the Whiskey Caramel latte! But they also have really great sandwiches like the Turkey Club and my current favorite chocolate chip cookie with sea salt! It’s a little pricey for some but our go to place around Dayton! And we love coming here to work!

Was exploring the Dayton OH area and stopped into Pettibone for a matcha latte 🍵 Service was fantastic, person behind the counter was pleasant and very helpful. Latte came out quickly and with a smile. Looking at their menu they have so many amazing sounding drinks, next time I’m in the area I’ll definitely be going back. If you’re looking for somewhere to get some work done they have tons of seating.

Creative latte menu and good flavor. I'm not so sure if they are price worthy though. The bariatas kept splashing customers with the glass rinser. It happened right next to me twice while I was sitting in there. The first time, there was no apology. The second time, the barista apologized only because everyone looked at that person. I did not get splashed, but folks at other tables did. Recommend not sitting next to the bar.

The coffee is superb. A variety of pour-over options and other menu items, and while I’ve only had an Americano and a pour-over, but have been exceptional. The space is also amazing. An open area with plenty of seating both table and bar-style.And the service always seems quick regardless of the capacity.Without a doubt, check this place out. The only reason for less than 5 stars is the background music is not entirely conducive to coffee shop activities like studying and reading. It is bass-heavy, electric, and loud. Otherwise, a great place with great coffee.

Mocha was bitter and gross. I assume it’s meant to be authentic and fancy, but it didn’t taste good.Purple haze wasn’t good. Again, I’m aware it’s supposed to be fancy but the taste just wasn’t good.Coffee cake was good but burnt.I asked the server if the cinnamon roll had cream cheese icing or regular. She said “I think regular.” Well, she thought wrong. I’m pretty positive it was cream cheese, although it was mild. The cinnamon roll wasn’t bad but nothing impressive.I’m only taking the time to write this because of how expensive everything is. We paid a lot for food that just wasn’t good.Presentation was great.Atmosphere was loud. There is a lot of seating but most are taken by people doing work.Rating a 2 because I’d say a 3 is some average restaurant that I may return to.
