BARBARA LOIS WALKENHORST August 14, 1932 January 5, 2010 Barbara Lois Walkenhorst, 77, passed away on January 5, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center Merced from the results of diabetes and heart complications. Barbara was born to Clyde and Caroline Blades in Fresno, August 14, 1932. She was raised in Peppertown, Indiana and moved to California in 1950, residing in Sanger, Selma and Fresno, before moving to Merced in 2001. She was a homemaker. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Elaine Valladao (Randy) of Merced, son, Rick (Kim) of Clovis, daughter Patricia Kromberg of Texas, and daughter Carolyn Kromberg of Fresno; one grandson, Monte Valladao of Merced; brothers Carson Blaydes of Springville and Robert Blaydes (Carol) of Clovis.

She is also survived by special friends and neighbors, Joe and Robbie Rios. She was preceded in death by her companion cat, Baldy. Barbara was a great seamstress who made many of her daughter's clothes when growing up and also made beautiful quilts. She was a Lakers and Nascar fan and loved watching her sports on television. She relished her independence, and once losing the ability to drive, would get all around town on her scooter and the Bus.

Her grandson, Monte, was her biggest pride and joy and she enjoyed spending time with her family. She especially loved going to the Blaydes cousin reunions, most recently attending in Foley, Alabama and Clovis. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. at Plainsburg Cemetery. Chaplain Steven Heath will officate.

FRANK T. GUERRERO July 6, 1924 December 29, 2009 Frank was born in Needies, California to Pedro Guerrero and Catalina Silva; he passed away in Modesto, California at the age of 85. He attended Livingston High School. He was a welder at Mare Island Shipyard during WWII, until he was drafted by Uncle Sam in to the United States Army in 1943. He was a truck driver delivering produce over 40 years for Ed Nahas and Sons Produce in Merced, and OK Produce in Fresno.

Frank was married to Adelina Valdez from 1943 to 1977. In 1978 he married Evva Jean Rodriguez. He was a very active member of Sociedad Morelos, American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, and belonged to the Teamsters Union. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evva Jean; first wife Adelina and their infant daughter, Gloria; sisters, Mary Massetti and Lucy Navarro; brothers, Martin and Raymond Guerrero; daughter-in-law, Liz Guerrero and granddaughter Alicia Guerrero.
