Can I use my Spectrum phone internationally? ›

Within the U.S. and Abroad. Spectrum Mobile services are ready for international use whether in the U.S. or abroad. Check out our low data rates here or add a flat-rate Global Day Pass option.

You can add Spectrum Voice International (SVI) for unlimited calling to 70 countries and low per-minute rates to the rest of the world for only $5 per month. Note: Countries marked with an asterisk are included as part of the Spectrum Voice International plan.

Calls to Canada and Mexico from the U.S. are included with your Spectrum Mobile service. International calling rates to other countries around the world vary.

You can set your phone to airplane mode before arriving at your destination and keep it there while traveling abroad so that your phone doesn't use data. You'll just have to manually connect to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth if you'd like to use these options while abroad.

International traveling – When you're traveling internationally, you can use WiFi calling to avoid international roaming charges. To make sure you're only making WiFi calls, use Airplane Mode and WiFi.

Unlimited long distance calling includes calls within the fifty (50) United States and Canada, Guam, Mexico, Puerto Rico, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands and the US Virgin Islands.

International roaming is automatically activated on your Spectrum Mobile device, but you can opt out of the service while abroad. If you want to opt out of the service while abroad, you can manage your account through Spectrum.net, use the My Spectrum app or simply turn off data roaming right on your device settings.

After creating a new Spectrum username, you'll need to wait 24 to 72 hours before you can use it to sign in to any TV apps. The Spectrum TV app won't work internationally.

You can avoid paying all international roaming fees by keeping your phone in airplane mode and sticking with whatever free Wi-Fi you can find, or by renting a Wi-Fi pod.

Even without an international calling feature, you can still access data, voice, and text when you're traveling internationally, but you will be charged at pay-per-use rates.
